Jean Sweeney Open Space Park Fund
Alameda Community Fund Grant
The Jean Sweeney Open Space Park Fund applied for a grant from the Alameda Community Fund. The grant request was to purchase tools for future clean-up projects that will be planned in the park.
The grant was approved and the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park Fund would like to thank the Alameda Community Fund for the grant of $2781.57 to purchase the tools. The list of required tools was provided by the Alameda Recreation & Parks Department.
The park is a very large 22 acre project that will be developed in phases and will require volunteers to help with weeding, planting, building trails and for use in the future community garden.
Jean Sweeney was a board member of the Alameda Community Fund for many years.
The image at the bottom of the list is from the community clean-up day at the Community Gardens sponsored by Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan.
